ASA 101 + ASA 103
Why rush? Sailboats are about the joys of learning to slow down and enjoy your experience.Â
Can you really sail into the wind? How do you steer the boat? How do you park a boat? What do you do when you meet other boats? What do I do with all those ropes? Is it safe?
Safety and comfort are the primary concerns of all of our classes, but specifically for this class while you get your sea legs. You will learn answers to these questions and so many more. We teach sailing in a comfortable atmosphere and at a relaxed pace. You will learn by doing.Â
This class is suitable for a range of experience from complete beginners to day racers.  Â
This class is offered with an optional ASA 101/103 certification, all the certification material will be covered in the course. Outside Pre-work, and a written test are required for certification. See the ASA 101 -Basic Keelboat Sailing curriculum for additional details. ASA 101/103 are the first in the series of three classes required to gain charter boat credentials. Testing fees, books and ASA registration fee not included.

INTERMEDIATE Couples SAILING
5 Days / 4 Nights
ASA 103 / ASA 104
Unless you took beginning sailing with us, you likely learned to sail on a small daysailer with an outboard motor and few if any electronics.  This class extends and refines the skills in ASA 101 and ASA 103 on a large cruising class boat with state of the art electronics. You will learn sail trim,  navigation, lots of docking practice, mechanical systems, navigation systems and electronic systems, You will also learn about crew roles and responsibilities and how to to plan and provision a safe trip for you and your crew. With the completion of this course, you will be certified to charter a sail boat up to 45′ around the world. See the ASA 104 curricula for certification details, pre-work and exam are required for certification.  ASA 103 can be earned with this class. Call to determine the best class choice.
Pre-requisite : ASA 101 or equivalent sailing experience. Â Testing out of 101 is only available on private trips.

Advanced Couples Sailing
7 Days / 6 Nights
ASA 106
Challenge your sailing skills with a 250 mile trip covering the entire Puget Sound. Â Weather dependent we will pass many challenging navigation obstacles including Deception Pass, Straight of San Juan de Fuca and the Tacoma Narrows. Â This includes an overnight passage with the use of safety tethers and jacklines. Â Emphasis on weather conditions, advanced anchoring techniques, sail trim, docking and navigation.

Adventure classes June - July ASA 101/103, 104, 106 offered
Choose your companions. Chose your destination. Chose your course(s). Chose your length.
There will be 6 trips beginning in early June. Starting in Seattle and traveling up the British Columbia Inside Passage and back. Â The start and stop locations are determined, but details will be customized for each course. Â All courses will have two ASA instructors aboard, but ASA instruction is not required for all participants. Â
Adventure classes will not be offered in 2023.
